Report on the First Sessions of the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee on the execution of Nicholas II:
July 18, 1918.
Received the report of the execution of Nicholas Romanov (cable from Ekaterinburg). The Presidium passed the following resolution in relation to this discussion:
The Presidium of the Central Executive Committee recognizes the decision of the Ural Regional Soviet as correct and proper. Comrades Sverdlov, Sosnovsky, and Avanesov are charged with the composition of appropriate news releases for the press. Information related to the former Emperor Nicholas Romanov (diaries, letters, etc.) will be transferred to the Central Executive Committee in Moscow, which will publish any relevant information. Comrade Sverdlov is charged with the creation of a special committee to collate these documents and arrange for publication.
